CMP Media's EE Times, the premier electronics industry news source for engineers and technical managers, announces the redesign of its print edition starting with the April 21, 2003 issue, which will debut at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco, April 22-26. The redesign was created by Danilo Black, an internationally renowned firm.

"The new design illustrates the evolution and complementary nature of news reporting in print and online," says Richard Wallace, VP/Editorial Director of CMP Media's Electronics Group. "News breaks online 24/7, while the print version offers the ability to step back and put the week's key events in perspective."

The redesign provides improved navigation throughout the issue, with better integration of each major section. A more prominent "On the Web" page highlights new online features and resources from web sites around the EE Times Network. Most print articles provide links to additional, relevant online articles. Executive summaries, known as "What it Means" boxes, will quickly give readers the distilled essence of key stories.

"CMP's Electronics Group continues to invest in its core properties despite a challenging economic climate," says Paul Miller, CMP Electronics Group VP and EE Times Publisher. "This more organized, integrated design will improve readability, creating a better platform for marketing messages. In addition, providing print and related online information will drive subscribers to the Web, creating unique opportunities for integrated marketing campaigns," says Miller.
