Milicruit Honors 10th Anniversary of 9/11

Virtual Career Fair Allows Employers to Recruit Veterans and Military Spouses Nationwide September 12, 2011

Aug 5, 2011

CHICAGO, Aug. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Milicruit, the recognized leader for career fairs for veterans, today is pleased to announce that they will host the next nationwide virtual career fair for on September 12, 2011 from 11-4PM EDT. This event will allow active-duty personnel, veterans and military spouses to meet and interact with military-friendly employers from all over the country in one day, from wherever they may be located.

"To build on the success of our previous virtual career fairs, we are very much looking forward to the September 12th event being our best to date. Ten years ago on 9/11, thousands of innocent men and women lost their lives, and in true U.S. fashion and pride, hundreds of thousands more stepped up to protect and  serve our country so that attacks like the one on 9/11 would not be repeated. It is our honor and pleasure to help these patriots in their search for employment as they transition back into the civilian workforce," says Kevin O'Brien, VP Business Development, UBM Studios.

The Milicruit virtual career fair environment is rapidly changing the way employers and veterans engage, as the numbers clearly demonstrate. On June 23, 2011, Milicruit hosted its last national career fair which drew over 21,000 visitors to the employer booths in just 5 hours, but more importantly, over 2,000 of the job seekers were still deployed overseas in countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Germany, and many others.

"Let's face it, career fairs are not what they used to be, and with the number of employers unable to even accept resumes in person, it begs the question 'what I am achieving by even attending?' Milicruit takes care of that initial interaction between the job seeker and employer by allowing the candidate to apply and chat with the recruiter at the same time, from the comfort and convenience of their home or office," adds O'Brien.

The Milicruit virtual career fair is free of charge to all active-duty service members, veterans and military spouses at www.veteranscareerfair.com. The September 12th event will include up to 100 industry-leading, military-friendly employers and government agencies.

In addition to the quarterly nationwide events, Milicruit also hosts regionally-focused events. The next regional fair will be held on August 17th for the following states: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. The site is always open for attendees to browse job postings, submit applications and leave messages for employers. Between career fairs, employers can schedule additional times to chat with veterans and spouses seeking employment.
