Media Veteran Chris Ciufo, Joins UBM Electronics as Content Director for the Embedded Systems Franchise

Reinforces UBM Electronics' Strategic Focus on Events, Compelling Content, and Community

SAN FRANCISCO, July 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Electronics, a UBM company and the daily source of essential business and technical information for the electronics industry's decision makers, today announced that Chris Ciufo, a media veteran in the embedded space, has joined the company as Content Director for the Embedded Systems Franchise.

In this highly visible role, Ciufo will be responsible for evolving and expanding the Embedded Systems Conference by conceptualizing and developing high-impact, compelling program content and working closely with the sales team to create unique offerings for exhibitors and sponsors. He will also lead the transformation of the print and online editions of Embedded Systems Design and the redesign of the Embedded Design Channel of eetimes.com including embedded.com, focusing on showcasing content that meets the needs of embedded designers and fosters strong community interaction through features such as forums and user-generated content.

Chris Ciufo has over 25 years of progressive technical management experience in the embedded space, ranging from program management of high-tech products and services to media. Most recently, he was Group Editorial Director and Director of Business Development at OpenSystems Media, where he created new titles such as Military Embedded Systems and DSP-FPGA.com and also renamed and launched two others. Ciufo helped productize the company's online strategy and was a key player in the effort to grow online revenues through the introduction of new products such as webcasts, microsite channels and virtual trade summits. He is a sought-after speaker at industry events and conferences, as well as numerous vendor events. Ciufo earned engineering degrees in electrical engineering and materials science from the University of California, Davis.
