UBM Electronics Bolsters its Editorial, Alexander Wolfe Rejoins as Content Director for Design News

Underscores UBM Electronics' Strategic Focus on Community and User Engagement

SAN FRANCISCO, June 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Electronics, a UBM company, and the daily source of essential business and technical information for the electronics industry's decision makers, today announced that editorial veteran, Alexander Wolfe, rejoins the company as Content Director for Design News, assuming the position previously held by Editorial Director, David Greenfield.  Wolfe will be responsible for overseeing and leading the Design News brand, as well as the transition to a new website platform later this month showcasing unique content that meets the needs of systems design engineers and facilitates strong community interaction through features such as instant chat.  In addition, Wolfe will work closely with sales, marketing and senior management to develop strategies to grow Design News, create new revenue opportunities, and increase the level of user engagement.

Wolfe has over 20 years of editorial experience in the electronics and mechanical engineering media industry. Most recently, he was editor-in-chief of InformationWeek.com, where he helped grow the depth and quality of the site's technical content. For nearly a decade, Wolfe was an editor at EE Times, where he broke the nationally known story of Intel's Pentium floating-point division bug in 1994. Earlier, he served as managing editor of Mechanical Engineering magazine. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and on editorial webinars, and has appeared as an industry analyst on CNN, CNBC, Fox News Channel, and MSNBC. Wolfe earned an electrical engineering degree from Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York.
