UBM Studios' Executives to Present Insights on Creating Events in a Virtual Environment at the IAEE Mid-Year Meeting

CHICAGO, June 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Studios today announced that Kristin Beaulieu, Senior Vice President, Development and Sales, and Michael Kushner, Vice President, Digital Media Strategy, will present insights on creating events in a virtual environment at the IAEE Mid-Year Meeting, which will take place at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C., June 1-4, 2011. The IAEE Mid-Year Meeting is part of the IAEE's educational programming for public events organizers, show organizers focused on growing their international attendance and exhibitors seeking strategies to enhance their corporate or association's brand.

Beaulieu will participate in the "Event Strategy and Business Planning," interactive session moderated by Jeff Cobb, President of Tagoras, on Friday, June 3, from 10:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  The session will help attendees discover the major elements of developing a strategy and business model for virtual events.  Chris Brown, Executive Vice President, Convention and Business Operations, National Association of Broadcasters, will join Beaulieu on the panel.

From 1:00 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. on Friday, June 3, Kushner will join a panel of industry veterans in the "Virtual Event How To, Four Steps to Success" discussion, teaching attendees how to plan and execute a successful virtual event using four key steps.  The panel discussion, moderated by Donna Sanford, President, Sanford Project Partners, LLC, will also include Regina Coll, MDE, RN-BC, Assistant Director-Institute for Credentialing Innovation, American Nurses Credentialing Center and Kevin M. Bullock, Manager, AARP.

With more than 15 years of experience, Beaulieu has a track record of significantly growing revenue in both the virtual media and publishing markets.  Beaulieu held a variety of positions at Ziff Davis Enterprise, most recently she was Senior Vice President – Event Sales. While at Ziff Davis Enterprise, Beaulieu created and built a $6M virtual event business, which started as eSeminars, led the company's International Licensing group and also launched PCMagCast, a virtual event business created specifically for PC Magazine's audience.  In addition, Beaulieu held several positions with InXpo where she handled virtual event business strategy and managed key publishing and enterprise accounts including Tech Target, Red7 Media, ZDE, Bank of America and EMC.  Earlier, Beaulieu held key marketing positions with several dotcoms.  Beaulieu earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University and a M.B.A. from Simmons College, Graduate School of Management.

Kushner has a track record of significantly growing revenue and profit by monetizing content/information through innovative, interactive delivery platforms in both domestic and global markets.  Kushner led the streaming media business for the Business Media division of the Nielsen Company where he oversaw a $3m+ business that produced over 150 webcasts, 200 event videos and 20 virtual expos and conferences.  Additionally, Kushner launched Reed Business Interactive at Reed Elsevier and produced one of the first enterprise virtual trade shows as an extension of a trade publication. He also pioneered ads webcast series, trade show video and video product showcases as media extensions, building a multimillion dollar business.   Kushner was also founder of Virtual Media Strategies, a consulting firm that developed ancillary lines of business integrating print, on-line, events and custom media, transforming one-dimensional products into multimedia brands.
