UBM Studios Virtual Career Fair Brings UBM TechWeb Together with Job Seekers

Jan 31, 2011

CHICAGO, Jan. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM TechWeb presented its first virtual career fair – Career EXPlOration – to share information about its business, culture and career opportunities to job seekers.  The virtual career fair on January 19, 2011 was open only for current UBM TechWeb employees, while the virtual career fair was open to the public on January 20, 2011.  UBM Studios, a turnkey virtual environment producer, provided the virtual platform for the event. The event is now available on demand.

The virtual event drew 236 registrants and 72 percent attended the virtual career fair on the live event days.

Job seekers heard directly from UBM TechWeb business leaders on what it takes to be part of their team and learn more about the career opportunities the company has to offer. In addition, job seekers also had an opportunity to speak with People & Culture representatives, upload resumes and chat live with business leaders to gain valuable tools and information to help make decisions about future career moves.

Since the career fair was virtual, it was cost effective, time efficient and environmentally friendly.  In addition, no travel is required, therefore, the virtual career fair offers opportunities for individuals all over the country and provides a wider talent pool.
