EE Times Group is the producer of the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC), the global electronics industry's leading event which brings together the largest community of designers, technologists, business leaders and suppliers.  The DesignCon exhibition and conference, sold by Professional Education International (PEI), a leader in the information and communications technology conference arena, expands EE Times Group's event portfolio into adjacent markets including chip-level system design and verification, analog and mixed-signal design and verification and IP re-use and integration.  Next year's DesignCon is scheduled for January 31-February 3, 2011 in Silicon Valley.

David Blaza, Vice President, Events and Embedded Systems for EE Times Group will lead DesignCon along with the ESC event portfolio.  Blaza said, "DesignCon is highly complementary to our existing portfolio and broadens our international presence in the electronic design and semiconductor industry.  It clearly builds on the strength of our existing offerings, adds new customers in niche markets and enhances our existing portfolio of events for the electronics industry."

As part of the agreement, EE Times Group is also acquiring InfoVault, a member based website that offers a technical library, video keynote presentations from leading industry experts as well as key insight on the business and technical issues facing electronic design and semiconductor industries.

As well, EE Times Group is acquiring DesignCon's vibrant database of more than 30,000 records.  The database includes individuals in the chip-level system design and verification, analog and mixed-signal design and verification; and IP re-use and integration markets.

In addition, EE Times Group is acquiring DesignCon co-located events, PCB Summit and IP Summit.  PCB Summit offers dedicated programming and technology demonstrations geared specifically for PCB designers, while IP Summit provides IP chipheads with the latest solutions for their design challenges.

John Janowiak, President of Professional Education International (PEI) will continue to serve as a consultant in an advisory role to EE Times Group.  Janowiak added, "The feedback we have received on the transfer of ownership has been very positive.  We look forward to our continued role in support of this vital industry initiative."
