The Channel @ Work: Future Tech Leaders Program is designed to make a difference in the lives of people in the community where Everything Channel hosts XChange events. The program will give approximately 20 teens the opportunity to attend XChange '09, participate in Microsoft training and certification courses and network with the Solution Provider community.

Students must be 15-18 years old and have passed the 70-282 Microsoft Small Business Specialists exam to enter the Framsyn Initiative. Additionally, they then must pass a minimum of two exams prior to graduation. Students can also study and test for advanced certifications such as systems administration or engineering. The young men and women that will participate in the Channel @ Work: Future Tech Leaders Initiative are working with local Solution Providers as interns.

"XChange '09 is an excellent opportunity for the Channel community to come together to meet, network and learn," commented Nancy Hammervik, SVP/Managing Director, Everything Channel Events. "Everything Channel and our parent company, United Business Media, are strong supporters of the local community and we are very excited to work with The Framsyn Initiative, Dicyn Solutions and Microsoft to create the Channel @ Work: Future Tech Leaders initiative and help make a difference in the lives of teenagers looking to work in the field of IT. Teens skilled in technology will shape IT's future and we are keenly aware that more needs to be done to make the next-generation workforce truly useful to employers. We understand that students need encouragement from schools and businesses to pursue careers in IT. We are looking forward to offering these teens a platform to learn and network with potential employers."

"For the IT industry to continue to innovate and shape the future of our country, we must invest in technology education for our youth," said Eric Martorano, Director of Channel Strategy & Satisfaction at Microsoft. "Microsoft is committed to supporting, promoting and enabling opportunities for students to reach their full potential and we are proud to be a part of a channel conference that brings together future IT professionals with IT industry leaders to deepen their knowledge of what it takes to succeed in this field."

Dino White, President and CEO of Dicyn Solutions and Chairman of The Framsyn Initiative, said, "We are very excited to be partnering with Everything Channel to provide teens with Microsoft training and the opportunity to network with key Solution Providers throughout the technology industry. In this most difficult of economic times, we see IT as one of the leading career fields that will be counted on by many; all businesses require IT to achieve their required state of readiness and maintenance and exceed its present performance. The Channel @ Work: Future Tech Leaders program will help shape the careers of these students as they prepare for graduation and enter the workforce."

Everything Channel XChange '09 is the largest channel event of the year, attracting over 1,000 attendees. The four-day event brings together over 250 qualified Solution Providers and leading industry vendors in diverse technology areas to build business relationships.
