Industry Heavyweights Sign on for the June 18th Event

SAN FRANCISCO, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- TechInsights today announced the industry leading organizations that have joined as sponsors of the upcoming June 18th EE Times Multicore Virtual Conference event. "Just two weeks after announcing the first EE Times virtual conference on multicore, I'm extremely pleased to report strong sponsor and community interest in the program," stated David Blaza, VP of Events for TechInsights. "We've sold out our platinum level sponsorships for this event, along with 50% of the gold level sponsorships. At this pace, I expect we'll be adding to the EE Times virtual conference program in the near future."

Early and sustained excitement in the event is attributed to the relevance of the multicore topic to today's design community, as well as the unique form factor of a virtual conference. Companies already committed to the event at the platinum level are Intel and Wind River and at the Gold level, Synopsys and Freescale. Conference sessions are supported by sponsor provided content as well as content and resources from TechInsights including archived webinars, technical papers, design articles and teardowns. Sponsors can choose from content topic areas and are able to participate in the panels and pavilions associated with their chosen topic: Intel is aligned with Software and Tools; Wind River is aligned with Hardware and Case Studies; Synopsys is aligned with Tools; and Freescale is aligned with Hardware.

As well, Stanford University professor, Kunle Olukotun, has been named as the keynote speaker. Olukotun is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Stanford University where he has been on the faculty since 1992. He has been a researcher in and proponent of chip multiprocessor technology since the mid 1990's. Olukotun is well known for leading the Stanford Hydra research project which developed one of the first chip multiprocessors with support for thread-level speculation (TLS). As an ACM Fellow and IEEE Fellow, Olukotun has authored many papers on chip multi-processor design and parallel software and recently completed a book on CMP architecture. Olukotun received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from The University of Michigan.

The one day multicore conference, which is taking place in June 18 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm EDT, includes ground-breaking virtual education sessions featuring live, interactive Q&As, real-time communications among attendees, exhibitors and speakers as well as interactive networking lounges to connect attendees with colleagues and industry experts.
