Light Reading and Heavy Reading's Backhaul Strategies for Mobile Operators will feature Dave Mayo, VP of Engineering & Operations for T-Mobile USA, as well as other industry executives.

NEW YORK, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Light Reading (www.lightreading.com), the leading online publication for the telecom industry, and Heavy Reading (www.heavyreading.com), its prestigious market research division, will be hosting their eighth Backhaul Strategies for Mobile Operators conference, on May 7, 2009, in Atlanta. Backhaul Strategies for Mobile Operators, hosted by Heavy Reading Senior Analysts Patrick Donegan and Gabriel Brown, will discuss the progress that America's carrier and vendor communities are making in relieving the so-called "backhaul bottleneck" in mobile networks. Backhaul Strategies for Mobile Operators 2007 in Atlanta was one of the industry's most successful backhaul events in 2008 with more than 115 attendees, nearly 60% of whom were from carriers. Expected attendance for 2009 is 120 attendees.

Backhaul Strategies for Mobile Operators will feature keynote speaker Dave Mayo, VP of Engineering & Operations for T-Mobile. Mayo will outline T-Mobile's plans for increasing capacity and reducing the cost of its backhaul network as it expands its mobile broadband subscriber base with 3G and, in the future, LTE.

"With its new regional wholesale agreements announced with Bright House Networks, FPL FiberNet, IP Networks, and Zayo Bandwidth, T-Mobile USA has signaled an intent to be a leader amongst wireless carriers in terms of diversifying its sources of high-capacity backhaul network", said Patrick Donegan, Senior Analyst, Heavy Reading.

Other speakers will include Dr. Yiannis Argyropoulos, Principal Member of Technical Staff, AT&T, and Dave Jones, Vice President of Engineering, FiberTower. Harris Stratex is a Platinum Sponsor.

Registration for press and analysts is free. To register for Backhaul Strategies for Mobile Operators in Atlanta, please visit: www.lightreading.com/backhaulatl.
