Submit your best idea for an iPhone application to Internet Evolution to win $500

NEW YORK, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- TechWeb's Internet Evolution, a Web 2.0 site dedicated to investigating the future of the Internet, has launched a contest inviting readers to come up with their best ideas for an application for the Apple iPhone. The winner will be awarded a $500 American Express gift card.

The iPhone App Store, a digital store available via iTunes, is home to more than 10,000 downloadable iPhone applications, which leverage some or all of the iPhone technology, including its touch interface, GPS, accelerometer, and 3D positional audio.

"Apple is clearly spearheading the mobile revolution with the iPhone," said Internet Evolution Editor in Chief Terry Sweeney. "This is due in no small part to the success of its App Store."

The contest will run until February 27, 2009, and ideas will be judged by members of the Internet Evolution staff.
