Last week, Everything Channel hosted a virtual event focused on green IT solutions which attracted nearly 2,000 Solution Providers and technology vendors from around the country. The virtual event, "Green Day: Capitalizing on Going Green" featured top executives from Intel, Hewlett Packard and VMWare who demonstrated products, viewed live presentations and virtually met potential business partners, without ever having to leave the office. With rising energy costs and the economy in recession, companies are looking for ways to reduce energy consumption to cut expenses and this event outlined how Solution Providers can do business with green solutions at a lower cost.

"We knew that Green IT was a hot technology, but it was amazing to see so many innovative energy and environmental saving products showcased by our sponsors," said Chris Sullivan, Vice President, General Manager, Everything Channel. "Addressing Green IT opportunities is exactly what our Solution Provider constituents have been asking for and we were pleased to bring our vendor sponsors together with solution providers in this interactive 'virtual' platform."

The tradeshow, which took place on September 18, began at 11:00 a.m. ET and was seven hours in length. Everything Channel's Senior Vice President/Editorial Director, Robert C. DeMarzo moderated the panel "How to Sell Green IT Solutions Today"; Everything Channel's CEO Robert Faletra presented a keynote session entitled "A Greener Channel"; and the Everything Channel Test Center's Edward F. Moltzen, Samara Lynn and Brian Sheinberg offered a panel discussion entitled "Green Office: Products Today that Save Energy and More."

Attendees were able to meet with other event goers in real-time inside virtual booths in the Exhibit Hall. Everything Channel offered a variety of resources - white papers, marketing collateral, spec sheets and Webcasts - in its Channel Resource Center. In addition, attendees networked with peers and others in the Networking Lounge and extended relationships beyond the virtual tradeshow environment.

The virtual trade show will be available for 90 days at: www.crn.com/vts/september.

Platinum sponsors included HP, Intel and Alternative Tech/VMware, gold sponsors included Nortel and SonicWall and silver sponsors included Eaton, CommVault Systems and Sony.

Everything Channel was recently awarded by min Magazine with an Integrated Marketing Award in the Online Event category for its November 2007 Virtual Trade Show. The awards salute the campaigns, ongoing programs and innovative people who have raised the bar on magazine marketing programs.
