SAN FRANCISCO, March 21 /PRNewswire/ -- TechInsights today announced its series of special events, including live product Teardowns and a UC San Diego professional certification program, at the 2008 Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) Silicon Valley, held April 14 - 18, 2008 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose.

Continuing on ESC Silicon Valley's tradition of bringing together the embedded community to learn, collaborate and innovate, these conference events will give attendees the chance to participate in a series of live product teardowns and educational opportunities.

-- Live product Teardowns will give conference attendees unparalleled
insight into the embedded systems that power today's hottest
      technologies including:
      - Orlon Space Suit: Attendees will have the chance to view the
electronics that were used in an out-of-service space suit from the
International Space Station. The Teardown will also discuss the
chronology of the SuitSat project, the electronics designed to
control the satellite and the hardware currently in development for
         this year's SuitSat-II deployment.
      - Sony OLED Television: Attendees can explore the embedded systems
that went into breaking new ground in technology, panel thin-ness
         and contrast ratio.
      - Gibson Robot Guitar Teardown: Attendees will get to see how this
guitar is able to automatically tune to a range of standard and
alternative tunings at the touch of a button.
      - Sony Rolly: Attendees can see how this hot new gadget -- that's not
even available in the U.S. yet -- plays MP3 files and dances to the
music, incorporating Bluetooth and 2 Gbytes flash memory.
-- A Professional Certification Program through UC San Diego Extension
will allow for ESC Silicon Valley's attendees to be eligible for 0.5
hours of continuing education credit toward professional certification
for those who attend six hours of technical training at the
conference. Attendees can then complete a certificate program through
online courses. With today's competitive job market in the embedded
industry, this program facilitates the advanced learning and
innovation that draws the embedded industry to ESC Silicon Valley.
