CMP Technology's Scott Dominguez Named Show Manager of the Year
Dominguez Honored for Work on Interop Las Vegas by The Expo Group
MANHASSET, N.Y., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Last evening at the seventh annual awards gala in San Diego, Scott Dominguez, Director, Operations and Event Services of CMP Technology, was awarded the Show Manager of the Year (SMOTY) by The Expo Group. Dominguez was honored for his work on Interop Las Vegas which took place at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, April 30-May 5, 2006.
Dominguez has had a long history with the Interop events. He began working on the event 17 years ago in data entry, and has held a variety of key positions throughout this time. His commitment to strong alliances between exhibitors, attendees, employees and vendors alike has consistently remained in focus throughout his varied experience.
The Expo Group SMOTY Awards are presented annually by The Expo Group, a tradeshow services provider, to show managers who make a difference in the industry, in their own organization and in the lives of exhibitors by creating and implementing great new ideas, focusing on problem solving and attending to the even the smallest details to ensure a successful show. Dominguez won the coveted designation in the Tier 4 category for shows with 701-1,500 booths.
Dominguez received a trophy and a $1,000 check payable to the charity of his choice - The San Francisco AIDS Foundation, which was founded in 1982 in response to the health emergency created by the AIDS epidemic. For over twenty years, the Foundation has been a pioneering force in AIDS public awareness, prevention, and education efforts and a national advocate for critically needed funding and compassionate public health policy.
"Our awards honor show managers who implement The Expo Group's unique philosophy of premier customer service. Winners, such as Scott, have demonstrated their commitment to work consistently and effectively to create outstanding events that are executed flawlessly," said Ray Pekowski, The Expo Group President and CEO.
Show managers are eligible for The Expo Group SMOTY Award consideration regardless of any affiliation with The Expo Group. Judging is conducted by a panel of publishers and show organizers. In 2004, CMP's Nancy Hammervik won The Expo Group SMOTY Award for her work on the company's XChange Events (http://www.cmpxchange.com/).
