MANHASSET, N.Y., Sept. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CMP Technology announced today that Peter Spande has joined its Business Technology Group (BTG) as Vice President, Online Media. In this new position, Spande is responsible for all aspects of BTG's online media products and services, including targeted branding, lead generation and integrated media programs. CMP Technology's BTG publishes three of the most recognized brands in the enterprise IT media space: InformationWeek, Network Computing and Optimize. Spande will report to Jeff Patterson, President, BTG.

Spande's hire marks the latest in a series of investments in talent made by CMP as the company strengthens its online market strategy. Last month, the company hired TechTarget founding Vice Presidents, John Cox and Lisa Johnson, as Vice President Account Development for BTG and Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing, respectively. The two were brought on to expand CMP's advertising base and strengthen the company's brand.

Spande brings more than ten years of online technology publishing experience to CMP. Most recently, he led TechRepublic.com's product development, community and editorial teams. Prior to his TechRepublic role, Spande was responsible for CNET Networks' business-to-business lead generation products, managing all white paper and webcast products across TechRepublic, News.com, ZDNet and ITPapers.com. Prior to joining CNET Networks, Spande held sales positions with PC World and Miller Freeman.
