Network Computing Online -- The Technology Solutions Center -- has been reengineered to efficiently deliver solutions-oriented enterprise information to network and IS professionals.

"According to a Network Computing Subscriber Study, Harvey Research, 75 percent of our print readers clip or save their issues for later use," said Publisher Deborah Gisonni. "As a result we have now set up our Web site to act as an online resource center where IT professionals could quickly and easily access broad information on a specific technology solution."

The redesigned Network Computing Online is organized into eight distinct technology areas that puts focused information at user's fingertips. Visitors interested in Internet/Intranet Issues, for example, can go to that area and find all the information they need -- culled from original online content and articles -- in one place. The eight areas are:

-- Network Operating Systems and Services: covering NetWare, Windows NT,
Unix and other vital operating systems.

  -- Internet/Intranet: applications and infrastructure.

-- Collaborative Computing: messaging, groupware, messaging directories
     and more.

-- Wide Area Systems and Services: remote access and WAN products and
     services.

-- Network Infrastructure: routing, switching and high-speed networking
     technologies.

-- Security: authentication, encryption, virus protection and more.

-- Network/Systems Management: all forms of management for networks.

-- Middleware: the software glue marrying intranet applications, Web,
     mainframe, and client/server worlds.

Network Computing Online continues to feature the Interactive Network Design Manual, a how-to guide to network troubleshooting and design; Interactive Report Cards; exclusive online news and reviews; Frezza's Forum, a point/counterpoint forum hosted by Network Computing columnist Bill Frezza; and the complete content of the print editions of the publication since 1995.

To grow the technology solutions-oriented resource, Network Computing announced the appointment of Mike Lee as Manager of Product Development. In his new role, Lee, formerly a Technical Manager with CMP's Enterprise Computing Group and prior to that a Unix Systems Administrator at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, will oversee software design and development for Network Computing Online, including the site's Interactive Report Cards and suite of benchmarks used for product evaluations.

Network Computing delivers lab-based, real-world enterprise-wide solutions to 200,000* Network Technology Drivers twice monthly. Its Web site is located at http://www.networkcomputing.com/.
