CMP Media's EE Times.de makes its working press debut here this week at the Design Automation and Test Conference Europe (DATE).

EETimes.de, and its recently named editor in chief Christoph Hammerschmidt, strengthen an extensive lineup of the EE Times Network, reporting the latest news and developments onsite March 3 to 7, 2003. Hammerschmidt will be at the EE Times booth (K61).

CMP Media's EE Times.de features daily news stories, new product information, design tutorials plus a weekly e-mail newsletter service. Hammerschmidt, EE Times' lead news editor for Germany, has extensive industry experience and studied electronics engineering at the respected Fachhochschule Furtwangen. He concluded his studies with the Dipl.-Ing. (FH) degree. His most recent position was Chefreporter at the IT web site silicon.de. Hammerschmidt previously worked in senior editor positions for well-known media like Computerwoche, Computer Zeitung and Network World Germany.

"The hallmark of the EE Times is its in-depth local industry coverage tied into a global news presence, and we are pleased to have Hammerschmidt and EETimes.de join our comprehensive network," said Richard Wallace, CMP Electronics Group, VP/Editorial Director. "Christoph has many years of experience in the German trade press, offering a unique combination of journalistic and engineering experience."

This German language online news edition is part of EETimes' global expansion into key markets, which will continue throughout the year. In March, EE Times will launch a local language web site for France, EE Times.fr, to complement the newly improved EETUK.com site. Each local language site will have a dedicated editorial staff. "Once again, we are responding to the information needs of the global electronics engineering industry. We have the largest (more than 50) and most experienced network of international editors covering this industry in the language our audience prefers," said Wallace.

The EE Times.de office is located at Grafinger Str.6, Gebaude H 45, 81671 Munchen, GERMANY. Hammerschmidt can be reached by email at redaktion.eetimes.de@cmp.com. Complete editorial and sales contact information is available under 'Kontakt' on the eetimes.de website. To register for the newsletter, go to http://www.eetimes.com/germany/register .

EE Times' other local online editions include EETAsia.com, EETChina.com, EETKorea.com and EETTaiwan.com. The EE Times Network also has specialized online web sites such as CommsDesign.com, EEdesign.com, Embedded.com, Planet Analog, Semiconductor Business News and The Work Circuit, averaging more than six million page views and reaching more than one million unique visitors each month. *
