CMP Media's InternetWeek announced it will increase the publication's circulation an unprecedented 28% from 215,00 to 275,000 to deliver increasing numbers of Internet/IT buyers and to fulfill the surging demand from subscribers. This circulation increase will be effective as of InternetWeek's December 4, 2000 issue. Also, the publication is expanding its editorial, online, events and marketing initiatives to extend and grow the InternetWeek brand.

As companies continue to build out e-business solutions and Internet-enabled supply chains, more companies and more people within each company are involved in the buying process. Increased levels of collaboration within organizations bring together corporate and IT management in greater numbers. The net effect-more IT and corporate management are involved in the e-business buying process today than ever before.

In addition, InternetWeek has been experiencing mounting demand from these Transformation Agents who rely on Internet/IT-focused news and analysis to do their jobs day in and day out -- the subscriber requests for InternetWeek continue to escalate rapidly. In a recently published article, Sam Whitmore, President of Media Survey, said "InternetWeek has emerged to contend as the weekly paper of record for readers following the Internet's impact on business." InternetWeek's strong ad page growth reflects the advertisers' need to reach these powerful Transformation Agents.

"By increasing InternetWeek's circulation to 275,000, we'll be able to deliver advertisers greater access to the most critical IT and corporate buyers and to satisfy the demands of our readers. These people are the industry leaders who are building e-businesses and driving business value to transform their organizations and survive in this highly competitive market place," said Patricia Schnaidt, Publisher of InternetWeek. According to Schnaidt, substantial resources will be invested into print, online and events so that InternetWeek can maximize its momentum and leadership position in editorial and #1 readership for its category.

InternetWeek will invest in editorial staffing and resources across the media platforms -- print, online and events. Additionally, InternetWeek will launch NetResults, a new section focused on the strategies and metrics for making e-business pay off. Coverage will include e-business leaders who are defining business transformation, brick-and-mortar giants who are playing catch-up, evolving business models, and e-business financial performance. InternetWeek recently launched the Transformation Advisory Board, a guiding board of 11 e-business leaders.

In the research area, the publication plans to increase its efforts four-fold and add online polling as a community builder. InternetWeek will launch a powerful marketing campaign focusing on the role of the Transformation Agent and is expanding its successful face-to-face seminar and event programs to include the Transformation of the Enterprise 2000 Conference, virtual seminars and roundtables, making InternetWeek's Learning Programs scalable from 25 to 500 attendees.
