GDC 2001 Stage Is Set With Impressive Slate of Game Development Luminaries

The 15th annual Game Developers Conference (GDC) will bring together top game industry and development community experts from around the world to exchange ideas and map the future of the interactive entertainment industry. GDC 2001 will take place March 20-24, 2001 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, Calif., and will feature more than 200 speakers that represent an unprecedented level of expertise in numerous categories of game development. The distinguished list of keynote speakers scheduled to speak at GDC 2001 include: Will Wright of Maxis, Jason Rubin of Naughty Dog, Bing Gordon of Electronic Arts, Michael Ansel of UbiSoft, Marvin Minsky at MIT Media Lab, J Allard of Microsoft, Seamus Blackley of Microsoft, and Iain McCaig of Dananxi Studios.

"Each year, the Game Developers Conference is where the international community of developers and artisans gather to shape the future of game development," said Alan Yu, GDC director. The conference will feature more than 300 roundtables and sessions in areas such as the visual arts, audio, programming, level design, business & legal, game design and production. In addition, the GDC Expo brings together hundreds of exhibitors under one roof to showcase the latest in tools, technology and services for making electronic games, including such companies as NVIDIA, Sega of America, Nintendo, Intel and Microsoft.
