EE Times today announced the launch of a new web site providing information for automotive electronics system designers and engineers. Called Automotive DesignLine (www.AutomotiveDesignLine.com), it is an online resource focused on the growing field of automotive electronics. Rick DeMeis, a test engineer and veteran industry reporter most recently with Design News, will be the online editor of Automotive DesignLine. Rick has extensive experience covering the electronics and motion control industries.

"Today's cars routinely have dozens of microprocessors, and as more functions of the typical car become electronic, there is a pressing need for better-quality information to help designers choose the right components and understand how to build the best systems," said David Strom, online editor with CMP's Electronics Group. Automotive DesignLine meets the growing business and technology information needs of engineers designing automotive electronics, by delivering practical how-to design information, product announcements and reviews, in-depth product research tools, expert advice and analysis, insights into industry trends, and breaking news focused on the following key areas:

  -- Power Train
  -- Chassis and Suspension
  -- Body Electronics
  -- Infotainment
  -- Security and Safety

Automotive DesignLine additionally features a library of technical and standards-related resources and discussion blogs and forums aimed at helping engineers address their greatest design challenges -- performance, reliability and safety.

Developed for the engineering community by engineers, the site content consists of a wide variety of original content, and contributed article material from engineers and system designers, and news stories, that reflect the design expertise of semiconductor manufacturers and systems integrators.

Site Sponsorships Sold Out for First Six Months

Three key sponsors, Analog Devices, International Rectifier and Renesas have purchased all the available sponsorship positions on the site for the first six months.

As a leader in delivering information to the creators of technology and innovation, CMP has consistently responded to the information needs of electronics engineers. "At present there is no independent authoritative source on specific automotive electronics engineering " noted Paul Miller, Electronics Group Vice President, CMP Media, LLC "We are excited by this opportunity to deliver a targeted site that addresses our customer and audience needs for information focused on vertical application areas."
