HomePC magazine is conducting an online survey about users' experiences with Internet service providers (ISPs) and plans to use the results in a feature about ISPs in an upcoming issue. To make participation in the survey a little more interesting, the publication announced a sweepstakes that will award a lucky respondent an Internet-ready, multimedia Monorail PC valued at $899. To register for the contest, entrants should log onto HomePC at http://www.homepc.com/ before midnight June 16, click on "Win a PC," and follow the directions. The sweepstakes winner will be determined through a random drawing of all completed entries on or about June 20, 1997 and will be notified by e-mail on or about June 23, 1997.

"Does your ISP let you connect when you need to? Are you being charged reasonably? Are you satisfied, overall, or have you had some difficulties? Well here's your chance to tell us all about it," HomePC Editor-in-Chief Ellen Pearlman said. "HomePC will publish the results of this survey online in a couple of months, and then later this year, as part of a feature about ISPs in the print edition of HomePC. We hope the information we gather will provide readers with first-hand accounts that will make it easy to choose -- or in some cases, confirm it's time to switch to -- a new ISP."

To enter the sweepstakes by mail, entrants must send the completed HomePC ISP survey and their name, company (if applicable), address (specify home or business), telephone number (specify home or business) and e-mail address to: HomePC ISP Survey Sweepstakes, CMP Media Inc., 600 Community Drive, Manhasset, N.Y. 11030, Attention: Lance Ulanoff.

The sweepstakes winner will be determined at a random drawing of all completed entries on or about June 20, 1997 and will be notified by e-mail on or about June 23, 1997. The winner will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, liability release and grant permission to use his/her name and likeness for advertising and promotion (without further compensation to the winner) within 21 days of notification or an alternate winner will be selected.

The HomePC ISP Survey Sweepstakes is open to residents of the United States and Canada (except Quebec) who are 18 years or older. Only one entry per person will be accepted. Selected Canadian entrants must first correctly answer a mathematical skill testing question administered by mail in order to claim a prize. Odds of winning are determined by the total number of eligible entries received. No responsibility is assumed for lost, late, or misdirected entries.
