CMP Media, Inc. today announced that many of the show's 80+ exhibitors plan to announce new products and technologies at the conference. The 5th annual PCB Design Conference East, scheduled for September 11-15 at Worcester's Centrum Centre in Worcester, MA, is expected to draw more than 1,500 attendees. Vendor announcements will focus on new state-of-the-art deliverables for circuit boards, including high-speed design and routing tools, service offerings, and Internet-based solutions.

Pete Waddell, conference chairman and publisher of Printed Circuit Design™ magazine, stated, "In addition to being exposed to the latest design and engineering techniques through our comprehensive classes and seminars, PCB East attendees will also be able to view or demo the latest tools and technologies exhibited by industry leaders. And through interactions on the show floor as well as events like the EDA Face-to-Face Panel, the show provides a great opportunity for engineers and designers to give feedback on what they want from these tools -- both now and in the future."

Vendor Announcements to Focus on a Wide Range of PCB Design Solutions

-- The PCB Systems Division of Cadence Design Systems (NYSE: CDN) will showcase the Studio and Expert Series of its scalable mainstream PCB solutions, along with the Orcad 9.2 family of products, and the latest versions of Cadence high-end tools.

-- Coretec will exhibit its Thermal Management capabilities, Microvia production, and other recent technological advances.

-- DDE USA Inc. will premiere its Supermax E-CAD Version 9 PCB/MCM/Hybrid layout solution, scheduled for release in Q3 2000. This new solution focuses on a state-of-the-art stack model with intuitive clearance rules/constraints for improved design integrity, enabling designers to produce first-time successes. DDE will also demonstrate its Advanced Editor, a gridless router that can route in both 45-degree and free angles with an aggressive push & shove capability that not only pushes vias, but also allows vias to push, for interactive routing and editing.

-- Hallmark Circuits Inc. will introduce 24-hour turnaround time for up to eight-layer prototype boards. To enable this capability, Hallmark has added the fourth Orbotech laser direct imaging system installed in the United States, Electrochemicals' Co-Bra Bond Oxide replacement process, and added redundancy equipment in AOI, drill, and electrical test. In addition, to assist customers' quick turnaround design efforts, Hallmark has opened a field applications engineering office in Plano, Texas, headed by Lynn Kahler.

-- SpinCircuit Inc. will introduce new Web-based supply chain integration solutions that enable designers to research, select, and place parts directly into their designs from within their design tools. Its new CAD-tool native and XML-based symbols -- mapped directly to its million+ part database with rich parametrics -- enable cross-platform design.

-- Zephyrtronics will provide demonstrations of its patented ZT-7 BGA & SMT Benchtop Hot Air Reflow System, which provides single spot BGA alignment, placement, reflow, and inspection -- eliminating the need for split-beam vision attachments. The ZT-7 recently won competitive evaluations by BGA component manufacturers including Philips, LSI Logic, Xilinx, and Motorola.

-- Zuken will highlight its enhanced Board Integrity Solution, with improved functionality in its Hot-Stage 2 high-speed prototyping and signal analysis product. The simulation environment now provides extended "what if" capabilities, sophisticated results analysis, comprehensive library management, and improved consistency throughout the design process. The company will also showcase Cadstar 4.5, the latest release of its entry-level, front-to-back PCB design tool.
