CMP Media Inc. has acquired South Beach, Fla.-based All4One Search Machine, a metasearch Internet site that facilitates Net-based searches by allowing users seeking information to employ four major search engines at once.

Created by independent developer John Haag, All4One (http://all4one.com/) simultaneously sends a user's search input to Yahoo, Lycos, AltaVista and WebCrawler and serves up the results of their independent searches in four frames simultaneously. At a glance, users can compare the search results among the four sites and then enlarge any of the frames to a full screen for easier scrolling.

"Getting our audiences the information they need--and getting our customers to the audiences they need--has always been CMP's charter," said Kenneth D. Cron, CMP Media's President of Publishing. "As the Web evolves as a premier information source both for those who use the Web to gather information about high-technology and those who use technology to get the information they need about any subject, CMP will continue providing both the information and the information sources online," he said.

All4One joins the impressive roster of online products comprising CMP's Interactive Media Group headed by Vice President, Group Publisher Rebecca Barna. Two and half years ago, CMP launched TechWeb®, its first electronic information product which is now a high-technology supersite and one of the most widely hailed and successful sites on the Web. Last year saw the launch of both NetGuide Live (http://www.netguide.com/), the ultimate guide to the Net, and First-TV (http://www.first-tv.com/), the world's first Internet-only 24-hour TV/video network.

The company's online presence also extends to each of its publishing groups which sponsor and maintain their own publication and service sites. Developer John Haag will continue to enhance as All4One as Managing Director, reporting to Barna. He and Efrain Enriquez, Associate Managing Director, will both work out of South Beach.

CMP Media Inc. provides publishing, marketing and information services to the entire high-technology spectrum -- the builders, sellers and users of technology--through print and electronic media. All of CMP's publications and online products can be accessed through the company's TechWeb site on the World Wide Web (http://www.techweb.com/). Print titles include EE Times, Computer Reseller News, InformationWeek and WINDOWS Magazine.
