CMP Media's CommsDesign.com (http://www.commsdesign.com/), the premier online technical resource for design engineers and managers involved in the development of communication systems and equipment, and the Network Processing Forum (http://www.npforum.org/) announce a strategic online alliance to expand the content and knowledge resources of CMP's CommsDesign.com's Network Processing Design corner.

Under the agreement, a joint editorial review board will be organized to help develop topics, enlist authors, and guide the technical direction of CommsDesign.com's Network Processing Design corner. Articles appearing in CommsDesign's Network Processing Design corner will also be featured on The Network Processing Forum's web site, http://www.npforum.org/. In addition to generating content, CommsDesign.com and the Network Processing Forum will establish and promote a Network Processing discussion forum on CommsDesign that will be lead by former Network Processing Forum CEO Colin Mick. This discussion forum will be hosted on CommsDesign.com and will also be featured on the Network Processing Forum web site.

"This is really an exciting day for CommsDesign. CMP's Electronics Group has always held a strong position in the network processing sector. The Network Processing Forum is by far one of the leading standards bodies in the networking space," said Robert Keenan, Editor-in-Chief of CommsDesign.com. "By working together, CommsDesign.com and the Network Processing Forum will deliver a host of comprehensive technical resources that will educate OEM and chip designers on challenging network processing engineering issues, such as benchmarking, standards, and more. Together, we will also provide engineers with an interactive forum where designers can share engineering problems and discuss technology issues shaping the network processing sector," Keenan said.

"The Network Processing Forum is honored to be joining forces with CommsDesign.com, a leading online technical content provider, to provide an in-depth technical resource for engineers and technical managers involved in the development and integration of network processing technologies," said Sunil Baliga, Chairman of the Technical Education and Marketing Working Group of the NPF. "As the leading developer of Network Processing standards and benchmarks, the NPF is the ideal partner to help CommsDesign.com deliver valuable content and knowledge through the Network Processing Design corner."
