EE Times Asia, the first news publication serving the electronic engineering community throughout Asia and China, today announced that it will expand from a monthly into a bimonthly tabloid newspaper. Based on strengthening reader interest, EE Times Asia's circulation grew by 40% over the past six months.

"As the Asian electronics market becomes increasingly competitive, with design cycles shrinking by the day, it is important our audience has access to industry intelligence on a much more timely basis, said Mark Saunderson, president, EE Times Asia. "Not only are we delivering news faster, we're also delivering twice as much of the timely information engineers need to stay on top."

EE Times Asia publishes five editions in four languages -- Korean, traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese and English -- and is distributed throughout Korea, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and South East Asia, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia. The new Asian edition is the result of a recent joint venture between CMP Media LLC. and Global Sources Ltd. (NASDAQ: GSOL), a leading B2B market maker and e-commerce solutions provider for the global trade community. The newspaper was first published in October 2000.

"EE Times Asia's successful introduction stems from editorial content that speaks directly to the five individual markets in which editions are being published," said Richard Wallace, vice president and group editorial director of CMP Media's Electronics Group. "The U.S. version of EE Times is widely recognized for providing technical news, features, and strategic analysis to engineers at the critical point in the design process to help them become more effective in their jobs. Our goal with EE Times Asia is to reinforce the same reputation by delivering industry news that speaks to our international audience in the most relevant way possible."
