CMP's HomePC Adds New Names to Promotion, Sales Teams

Della Penna Named Promotion Manager; Muller and Posthauer Sign On To Manage Sales for Eastern and Western Regions, Respectively

HomePC has added three new names to its promotions and sales teams, HomePC Publisher Dick O'Hare announced today. Gina Della Penna, former Research Manager for CMP's EE Times and OEM Magazine, steps in as HomePC's new Promotions Manager. On the sales front, Peter Muller, former Eastern Regional Manager, NetGuide Magazine, moves over to HomePC as Eastern Regional Manager, and Carla Posthauer, HomePC's former District Manager/West, assumes the new position of Western Regional Manager.

"Since my appointment as Publisher, I've made it my first course of business to appoint some of the most effective, talented and aggressive people to key posts within the organization," O'Hare said. "Gina has solid credentials and the kind of ambition that's needed to drive promotions for HomePC. Della Penna, a Research Analyst for CMP's OEM Group since 1994, holds an MBA in Marketing from Hofstra University and is a graduate of CMP's Management Development Program. Her previous work experience includes positions as a Media Planner at Young & Rubicam from 1989-1991, and as a Research Analyst at Gannett Newspaper's USA Weekend, which she left in 1994 to join CMP. Muller began his career at CMP in 1994 as a District Manager for NetGuide Magazine. Muller joined CMP from Ziff-Davis, where from 1992-1994 he was a District Manager for PC Computing. Prior to that he spent seven years as a Product Marketing Manager for Lotus Development Corporation and Micrografx, Inc. where he launched Windows Draw®, one of the first software programs targeted specifically for home users. Muller holds a BA from Washington and Lee University and an MBA from Babson College.

Posthauer, who has been a District Manager for HomePC since the publication launched in 1993, has received numerous company sales awards. In 1996, her team was recognized for the most pages sold in a single issue and she was personally recognized for achieving $5 million dollars in sales. In 1994, she was recognized as HomePC's Salesperson of the Year. Posthauer is also a former Ziff-Davis employee; she was an Account Executive at the company from 1987-1989, and a Regional Manager from 1989-1993. Prior to Ziff-Davis, she was an Advertising Manager for New Age Magazine. Posthauer holds a B.A. in Legal Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
