CMP Media's Intelligent Enterprise magazine, the only publication dedicated to helping organizations plan and deploy strategic business applications that turn information into intelligence announced today Dr. Bruce Silver, an independent industry analyst and consultant focused on business process management and content management technologies, will be the publication's new "Change Agent" columnist.

Dr. Silver will share his insight and expertise about the growing importance of BPM and content management technologies in the pursuit of strategic business objectives. The announcement comes in response to reader interest in BPM and content management and also how these technology solutions mesh with other key objectives including business intelligence, performance management and service-oriented architecture applications. Intelligent Enterprise recently launched a Web channel dedicated to content management and will launch a new business process channel in September.

"We are delighted to feature Bruce Silver's commentary on subjects that are critical to our readers as they pursue the next level of productivity and competitive advantages with information, said David Stodder, Editorial Director and Editor-in-Chief of Intelligent Enterprise. "Bruce is a perceptive writer, and in his consulting work with leading public, private and governmental enterprises, he is in contact with what's working -- and not working -- when it comes to BPM and content management. This is an exciting development."

Dr. Silver is no stranger to the Intelligent Enterprise community. He wrote cover stories in the February and June 2005 issues on BPM and content management. And previously, he was the "Business Rules" columnist for Transform Magazine, which merged with Intelligent Enterprise at the beginning of the year. Dr. Silver is the author of The Manager's Guide to BPM Software, a series of in-depth reports on leading BPM software offerings, as well as numerous industry trend reports and white papers on content management and BPM.

With the welcome addition of Dr. Silver and his area of expertise, Intelligent Enterprise continues to expand its coverage of BPM and content management technologies with the publication of more than a dozen articles on BPM in the last seven months, including four major features, a nine-way comparison of BPM suites done jointly with sister publication Network Computing and prominent "Field Report" case studies on Citigroup, Molson Coors, ADP, Blue Rhino and other well-known companies.

As mentioned, the Intelligent Enterprise launched a content management channel recently and has a business process channel set to debut in September. Rather than be a conduit for marketing fluff, Intelligent Enterprise is dedicated to helping readers understand key technology differentiators and learn how they can progress with BPM, content management and the analysis and integration of different information sources. "According to a June 2005 poll we conducted of our readers and Network Computing readers, optimizing business processes and ensuring process consistency are the driving reasons behind BPM initiatives," said Doug Henschen, Editor of Intelligent Enterprise. "Our new channels and related activities will give readers a timely source of knowledge to keep BPM momentum going and ultimately achieve greater business agility."
