On June 23-25, 2003 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, three general session speakers will address over 1500 information security professionals at NetSec 2003, outlining strategies for information protection that include both the technical as well as the "people" side of security.

William H. Murray will kick off the conference Monday, June 23, using a recent global denial of service (GDoS) attack to illustrate that new requirements are needed to combat today's attacks, and will make recommendations to enterprise and network management. On Tuesday, Anne Kuhns, Manager, Information Technology at Walt Disney World, will discuss her experience setting up an information security awareness program in a large corporation, and how to use innovative methods as a sure-fire way to capture the attention of employees. In his talk on Wednesday, "Security is More than Technology: Motivating and Inspiring the Human Component," Michael J. Corby provides a practical roadmap to get people -- the most extensive and expensive components of a total security program -- to work in harmony with the organization's security objectives.

The NetSec conference is the largest and most established conference devoted exclusively to network security. Eight full tracks are offered, including an introductory track for newcomers as well as more advanced technical sessions for the more experienced practitioner. Focused pre- and post-conference workshops will be offered for in-depth training on specific topics.

"For the last 13 years, NetSec has been the best place for information security professionals to learn real-world strategies and techniques to protect their networks," states CSI Director of Events Simon Cooper. "This year we offer over 90 sessions on topics that include intrusion prevention, forensics, network attacks and countermeasures, wireless, remote access, risk management, smart cards, contingency planning, privacy, awareness/management issues, and much more."

Held in conjunction with the conference, the NetSec 2003 Exhibition will be held June 23-24. Over 75 security vendors will display a wide variety of products and services, which include products in the areas of firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection, authentication, single sign-on, network security management and remote access.
