Computer Security Institute (CSI), renowned security education provider, announced its partnership with Espiria® Inc. a leading information security company headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. With the emphasis both organizations place on enterprise information security, the partnership is poised to result in significant value for the CSI membership and the Espiria customer base.

"CSI is all about providing value to its membership, allowing them to make educated business decisions with regard to their security initiatives," says CSI's director, Chris Keating. "Providing this $295 example of Espiria's SecurCompass automated assessment and program design offering to our members at no cost greatly increases the value of membership."

The SecurCompass security program design process gathers information from both a technical and a business perspective. The results of SecurCompass include:

-- Measurable comparison of the current level of security against the
security goals and objectives of the organization and industry
     standards
-- Benchmark comparisons with similar industry organizations
-- Results by security category and sub-category
-- Detailed assessment findings and recommendations
  -- Regulatory compliance mapping results

SecurCompass has been used to perform hundreds of security measurements, across virtually every vertical market -- small, medium and large. Recommendations address technology, process, policy and/or human behavior changes -- appropriate for the business -- that could improve the organization's overall security program. Once implemented, those recommendations can be re-evaluated by SecurCompass to measure progress over time.

Espiria's president and CEO Hugh Voigt states, "Because SecurCompass is standards-based, it isn't your typical subjective, check-list approach to assessment or program planning. We are able to clearly identify the security gaps within an organization and help prioritize where to best spend time and resources for the greatest return on investment. We are excited to team up with Computer Security Institute to help their members develop stronger security programs."

Keating goes on to say "Espiria's SecurCompass process is a scalable, comprehensive security assessment and program design tool. It provides clients the best method of evaluating their current security program and finding solutions to address ongoing security needs. Our membership has a unique opportunity to experience this process first-hand and without cost to them as a direct benefit of CSI membership."
