The International Game Developer Association (IGDA) today announced that G4 Media and GameSpot are supporting the association's peer recognition honors -- the Game Developer Choice Awards -- as the definitive awards for creative excellence.

G4, the only 24/7 television network dedicated to video games and the gamer lifestyle, will provide extensive coverage of the Choice Awards ceremony across several shows and include Choice Awards logos in programs relating to the nominees, and award-winning games and developers.

GameSpot (www.gamespot.com), the No. 1 online source for game information, will also support the awards program, integrating the award logo into its coverage. A special super-site (gamespot.com/choiceawards), launching concurrent with the event, will include information on all nominees and award recipients, as well as developer interviews, interactive poll results and other special features.

"Consumers know that a Game Developers Choice Award is a stamp of excellence and innovation," said Graeme Devine, programmer, id Software and IGDA chairperson. "These titles and developers have the cachet among the game insiders."

Presenters for the March 6 Choice Awards ceremony are industry leaders, including Graeme Devine, id Software; and last year's Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Yuji Naka, president and CEO, SONICTEAM, Sega.

"As the Choice Awards are nominated, voted and selected by the development community, it is only fitting that members of the community present as well," noted Jason Della Rocca, program director, IGDA. "As former Choice Awards recipients and developers themselves, these presenters truly understand the significance of being honored by their peers."

The complete list of presenters is:

   Yuji Naka, SONICTEAM, Sega
   Chris Trottier, Maxis
   Jeff Lander, Darwin3D
   Jason Della Rocca, IGDA
   Graeme Devine, id Software
Martin de Ronde, Lost Boys Entertainment
