Network Computing's Enterprise Architecture Group announced today it has been honored with an unprecedented six Maggie awards from the Western Publications Association (WPA). For more than fifty years, the WPA has bestowed awards of merit to deserving publications whose work was deemed the best in the west.

Network Computing led the pack with three Maggies, winning Best Series of Articles/Trade -- "The IT Agenda;" Special Theme Issue/Trade -- "Survivor's Guide," and Best Computer/Trade magazine. Additionally, the WPA applauded Network Magazine's recent redesign by awarding them the Most Improved/Trade, the magazine also won in the Computers/Software, Training & Program Development/Trade category. Our sister publication, Secure Enterprise also took home a Maggie award for Best Supplement/Trade.

In addition to the six Maggie awards won this year, Network Computing was also the recipient of one national and three regional editorial excellence awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors in 2003.

"We are extremely proud of winning such an extraordinary amount of awards. It speaks volumes about the editorial quality, talent and dedication of our editors to our readers and the industry," said Rob Preston, Editorial Director, Network Computing's Enterprise Architecture Group.

"It is with great honor that we accept these awards. As we've only recently launched the Enterprise Architecture Group, it's very rewarding to see these publications and editors given the merit they so rightly deserve. Further, it's good to know we're on the right track by creating this uniform group of magazines that helps technology buyers make smart decisions about their IT purchases, and providing a platform for vendors to reach those buyers," said Fritz Nelson, Group Vice President, Network Computing's Enterprise Architecture Group.

This year's Maggie competition received almost 1700 entries from magazines published or distributed solely west of the Mississippi River. A total of 84 Maggies were given out for editorial, design and promotional excellence.
