Light Reading (http://www.lightreading.com/), the world's leading online publication for the telecommunications industry, today announced that it is expanding its coverage of wireless technology. As part of this expansion, it has hired a new Senior Editor, Carmen Nobel.

With the expansion, Light Reading plans to significantly extend its coverage of wireless networking infrastructure and services, focusing on core service provider technologies such as 3G (including HSDPA and EV-DO), WiMax, WiFi, and mesh networking. Light Reading will continue to work in concert with the staff of its sister publication, Unstrung, to cover the entire wireless networking world: Light Reading will focus on service provider infrastructure and services, while Unstrung will report on wireless enterprise networking technology and devices.

Nobel, an eight-year veteran of eWeek, will focus on coverage of mobile services and infrastructure for Light Reading. The expansion brings Light Reading's total editorial staff count to ten writers and editors, the largest staff of any online publication exclusively covering the telecom industry.

"It's clear that the service provider industry is moving rapidly toward an infrastructure that will support a wide range of wireless services and applications, and Light Reading plans to cover all the business and technology implications," said Scott Raynovich, Editor in Chief of Light Reading.

Light Reading and Unstrung editors will be covering next week's CTIA show in depth, with a total of five editors on location. CTIA will also mark the debut of Unstrung's broadcast-quality broadband video service, "Unstrung TV." This service will provide enterprise IT users with entertaining and educational programming on critical wireless technology issues.
