CMP Media's Varbusiness Magazine Lauds Top Technology Integrator Companies And Executives

Honors Top 500 Solution Providers at New York Gala

CMP Media's VARBusiness magazine lauded the top executives and companies among North America's technology integrators at the VARBusiness 500 Awards event held June 24 at the Rainbow Room in New York City. Fifteen individual awards were presented and the top 500 solutions providers were acclaimed.

Dendy Young, CEO of GTSI, in Chantilly, Va., received the Lifetime Achievement Award. One of the most respected leaders in the government information technology (IT) arena, Young joined GTSI at the brink of disaster in 1996 and brought it to unprecedented profitability on 2002.

VARBusiness Editorial Director Robert C. Demarzo, in bestowing the honor said that Young "has spent a career earning his reputation both among employees and peers. He is a professional who can boast a results-oriented track record and can be trusted."

The Executive of the Year award was shared by two individuals. Robert Cagnazzi, CEO of Dimension Data Systems Group, in Reston, Va., was honored for growing his company by 23.5 percent during a time when many others struggled. Eva Losacco, president and CEO of Forsythe Technology, in Skokie, Ill., led her company to its 32nd consecutive year of profitability.

DeMarzo also hailed the 500 technology integrator firms ranked as the top 2002 revenue producers among approximately 90,000 solution-provider organizations in North America. They account for $313 billion in sales of information-technology (IT) services and products.
