Robin Rather, Director of Research and Consulting for CMP's Enterprise Computing Group, has been promoted to Vice President, Research for the group comprising InformationWeek, CommunicationsWeek and Network Computing. Rather's promotion, announced by Jeffrey L. Strief, Senior Vice President, Group Publisher, is indicative of the group's solid commitment to research efforts and her vital role in serving customers and readers.

Rather will further the group's position as a research leader in the enterprise community by seeking out original research opportunities, while overseeing all primary and secondary research and analysis for client-driven studies, syndicated media studies and internal projects.

"Robin has been an invaluable resource to our marketing partners, customers, publishers and editors," said Strief. "Her expertise and initiatives--including our recently completed Intranet Trends Study and our new Internet-based research panel--give technology marketers valuable tools to more effectively target large IT organizations and reach high-volume purchasers."

Rather joined CMP in 1995 from IntelliQuest, where she was a Vice President in charge of client service, business development and marketing. She has more than 17 years of experience in market research, strategic planning and business development for high-technology companies. Prior to her position at IntelliQuest, Rather was Director of Business Development for the Washington office of International Data Corporation.

Rather holds a bachelors degree from Tufts University. She will continue to work out of her Austin, Texas, office.
