CMP Media's VARBusiness magazine presented Hewlett-Packard Co. with its first Annual Report Card (ARC) Lifetime Achievement Award. The ARC, in its 14th year, is the definitive research-based industry benchmark that measures value-added resellers' (VARs) satisfaction with their systems, software, networking and Internet vendor partnerships. Based on over 5,000 extensive surveys with authorized VAR and integrator partners, the ARC analyzes VARs' satisfaction with their vendors in the areas of products, support and partnership.

The winner of this new award is selected based on the vendor's channel program, product excellence, overall consistency and performance over the history of the Annual Report Card. Hewlett-Packard was chosen by editors of VARBusiness for having an unsurpassed 48 Annual Report Card award wins, and for being consistently cited by VARs within the ARC as providing superior quality products over the last decade.

VARBusiness Publisher, Robert C. DeMarzo, said "Hewlett-Packard has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the reseller community for the past ten years. Its channel programs for a wide range of IT product categories have outperformed those of its major competitors and companies with more narrow product lines."

Tom Tarasoff, General Manager of Hewlett-Packard Computer Products National Accounts, accepted the award during the VARBusiness Annual Report Card awards event held in conjunction with the Breakaway XChange Conference in Orlando. Breakaway XChange is cosponsored by CMP Media's Channel Group and the Computing Technology Industry Association. The VARBusiness ARC awards event is presented by Ingram Micro, Compaq Computer Corp. and 3Com Corp.

VARBusiness, the channel's leading magazine, goes behind the headlines, looking at issues and trends from the VAR's point of view, focusing on "what's in it for the VAR" in every article. It provides perspective, in-depth analysis, proprietary research and tools to help resellers and solutions providers grow their business. The rich editorial content provides the crucial how-to information VARs need to manage their business, make product, technology and supplier decisions, and enhance customer relationships. The American Business Press recently honored VARBusiness with a prestigious 1999 Jesse H. Neal Editorial Achievement Award. The magazine's Web site is at http://www.varbusiness.com/.
