CMP Healthcare Media announced today it will publish its second annual Psychiatric Times: Global Watch, a bonus mid-April issue devoted exclusively to the global state of psychiatry. The issue will tackle such mental health issues as depression, alcoholism, schizophrenia and obsessive compulsive disorder, which are leading causes of disability worldwide.

"We're very excited to be able to extend our coverage to global issues once again," said Psychiatric Times Publisher Marcy Holeton. "Throughout the past year, subscribers and advertisers have specifically thanked us for offering the Global Watch issue. The response to the issue underscores the need to develop a greater awareness of the challenges that face psychiatric professionals around the globe."

Psychiatric Times: Global Watch will take an in-depth look at factors influencing psychiatry practice around the world. Subscribers will get a global perspective on depression, child psychiatry, psychotropic medications and the role of human rights abuses in the development of psychiatric conditions, as well as:

-- An examination of cultural and economic variables in global psychiatry
-- A report on the relationship between psychiatry and traditional healing
-- A special report on several mental illnesses and their impact on
     various global communities
-- An article that offers physicians an opportunity to earn continuing
     medical education credit

Psychiatric Times: Global Watch will reach Psychiatric Times' circulation of 39,000+ psychiatric professionals in April. Additional copies of the print edition will be distributed at the American Psychiatric Association Annual Meeting, May 1-6 in New York. A complete online edition will be available at www.psychiatrictimes.com.
