CMP Media LLC announced today that its Embedded Systems Conference will relocate to the expanded San Jose Convention Center April 2-6, 2006. The Embedded Systems Conference outgrew the San Jose Convention center in 2000 and moved to San Francisco in 2001. After significant expansion and services upgrades to the facility, the Embedded Systems Conference is able to return to its technology roots in Silicon Valley.

For 17 consecutive years, thousands of industry leaders and engineers have converged on the Bay Area to attend the Embedded Systems Conference. Great minds in embedded systems development meet at this crossroads of innovation and application to share ideas and learn new and better ways to bring the latest embedded technologies to the marketplace.

"The Embedded Systems Conference is the longest running show of its kind, and is where innovation and tomorrow's products come together," said Paul Miller, VP/Group Publisher, CMP Media Electronics Group.

A significant portion of the Embedded Systems Conference attendees and exhibitors are located in the heart of Silicon Valley. CMP's decision to move the show to the San Jose Convention Center was bolstered by the many new infrastructure changes the area has undergone in the past few years. The San Jose Convention Center has been expanded and updated and is now able to accommodate the large number of exhibitors at the Embedded Systems Conference. The addition of the new directly-attached Marriott -- as well as other local, affordable lodging -- is very convenient for attendees and exhibitors. Lastly, increased airline choices at the San Jose International Airport will improve travel options for all conference attendees.

"The return of the CMP Embedded Systems Conference to San Jose is the result of our strong commitment to innovation, excellence and service that helps our technology industries thrive," said San Jose Mayor Ron Gonzales. "We're delighted to welcome the event back next year, and I'm confident that every participant will have a great experience in San Jose."
