CMP Media Acquires Incoming Calls Management Institute (ICMI), Creating Comprehensive Call Center Media Platform

CMP Media (www.cmp.com) announced that it has acquired Incoming Calls Management Institute (ICMI, Inc.), which will create the most comprehensive media platform in the call center market. The new entity combines CMP's strength in media and events with ICMI's leading position in educational, consulting and membership services, and broadens CMP's current product line of Call Center Magazine, commweb.com as well as the ACCE and Call Center Demo conferences. Approximately $180 billion was spent in the US alone last year to operate call centers, handling about 32 billion customer contacts, according to ICMI estimates.

Philip Chapnick, Vice President of CMP's Applied Technologies Group, which includes the Call Center division, said, "There is not another organization in the world that can provide such a rich suite of information products and resources to support Call Center industry professionals in enhancing their value to their companies and improving the customer contact experience."
