CMP Media Inc. announced this week at CT Expo 2001 that Computer Telephony magazine is being renamed Communications Convergence.

"The global phenomenon of convergence is transforming communications," said Group Publisher Chris Keating. "Computer telephony, the magazine and the industry, was the birthplace of convergence. The name change -- and the tagline: Redefining Telecom -- reflects where our readers, advertisers and editorial have taken the industry."

Communications Convergence has a circulation of 120,625, according to the December 2000 BPA statement. 54% are enterprise users and 46% are solutions providers -- either at service providers or in the channel. "The agents of change driving convergence are located in the enterprise, the channel and at service providers," Mr. Keating said. "All three groups turn to Communications Convergence for the product and strategic information they need to make this new paradigm succeed."

Editor in Chief John Jainschigg indicated the magazine is poised to lead its readers through the next frontier. "The name change reflects our magazine's focus on the most crucial areas of technology change affecting the global communications industry -- the interfaces where technologies like IP voice and multimedia, broadband, messaging, e-commerce, customer contact and mobility blend together, fuse and leverage one another to produce revolutionary business benefits," Mr. Jainschigg said.

The first issue of Communications Convergence will appear in June 2001.
