Nominations are being accepted for the Best of Show Awards, held during NetWorld+Interop 2001 Las Vegas, May 8-10, 2001. The Best of Show Awards, sponsored by CMP Media's InternetWeek, Network Computing, and Key3Media Events' NetWorld+Interop, honor the leading products and technologies exhibited at this premier conference.

Editors from InternetWeek and Network Computing with expertise in key categories will be on site to evaluate technologies and conduct the judging. Awards will be given in twelve separate categories: Carrier Network Infrastructure, E-Commerce, Enterprise Network Infrastructure, IP Video & Telephony Applications, Network Applications Software, Network Management, Network Performance, Network Security, Network Servers & Peripherals, Performance Test & Measurement, WAN & Remote-Access Equipment, and WAN Services. In addition, an overall Grand Prize Winner will be selected. The popular People's Choice Award, first introduced at last Spring's NetWorld+Interop, will be awarded again this year. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to cast votes on site for their favorite product from among the finalists.

"The Best of Show Awards recognize the latest technological advancements in specific category areas. The winners in each category represent the products that we believe have the most significant technical impact on their segment, and are helping to move the needle forward," said Wayne Rash, editor of events for InternetWeek. Rob Kohlhepp, Network Computing's lab director, added, "We have assembled a technically astute group of judges to ensure that only the very best products of the show receive these prestigious awards."

Nominations are due by April 16, 2001. Participation in the Best of Show Awards is limited to vendors that are primary exhibitors at the Las Vegas event. For eligibility, products or services must be announced no earlier than April 1, 2001, with a product release no later than August 10, 2001.
