Industry Magazine Selects 20 Companies to Watch in 2002

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS DESIGN, the monthly magazine for OEM design engineers and managers involved in the development of communication systems, today announced the 20 recipients of its second annual Comet awards. The Comet awards recognize up and coming communications technology companies that have demonstrated superior achievement by virtue of their innovation, technical vision, and risk-taking. The award winners will be prominently featured in the September issue of the magazine, and will also be honored at a banquet to be held on October 1st at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose in conjunction with the Communications Design Conference (October 1-4, San Jose Convention Center).

"We are proud to announce our second annual set of Comets," said Rob Keenan, Editor-in-Chief of COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS DESIGN. "In such a tumultuous year, it has been difficult to identify companies that have the right mix of technology, vision and focus to make a mark. Nevertheless, our editorial board sorted through the chaos to select 20 companies we feel are well-positioned to become big players in the quickly changing communication market."

The Comet award winners were selected from a field of 70 emerging communications companies by a panel of editors from industry publications COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS DESIGN, EMBEDDED SYSTEMS PROGRAMMING, COMMSDESIGN.COM and EE TIMES.
