VARBusiness Hires Seasoned Editor to Direct Features Al Senia Named Features Editor

Al Senia joined the staff of CMP Media Inc.'s VARBusiness Magazine as Features Editor, a position in which he will identify high-tech industry trends and write cover stories. Senia will also work closely with Senior Executive Editor T. C. Doyle in developing cutting-edge e-Business stories and content for both the print and online versions of VARBusiness.

Senia returns to CMP where he helped drive and direct news and feature coverage in a variety of top editorial positions for Computer Reseller News (CRN). During a 12-year period, he worked as Channel News Editor, West Coast Bureau Chief and, more recently, Editor of Special Reports for the weekly newspaper. He was responsible for developing and editing a wide variety of special projects including the annual Comdex Top 25 Industry Executives special report. He also provided State of the Industry presentations as a frequent speaker to high-tech executives at a variety of industry events and trade shows.

Senia has covered business and technology trends as a journalist and editor for more than 20 years. Before joining CMP in 1987, he worked as West Coast Editor for Chilton Co., a division of the American Broadcasting Co. (ABC). He has also worked as a high-tech industry analyst for The Viewpoint Group in Santa Cruz, Calif., as well as a freelance business writer for The Washington Post, The International Herald-Tribune (Paris), Newsday, and Primedia.
