CMP Media's InternetWeek, the source for IT and corporate professionals who are applying Internet technologies and strategies to transform their businesses, today announced the addition of two newly created positions on the InternetWeek brand team. Ian Owen-Ward has been appointed Western Regional Director of Sales and Wayne Rash has been promoted from Managing Editor of Technology to the position of Editor of Events.

In his new position, Rash is responsible for directing and managing all editorial content issues associated with InternetWeek Learning Programs, including multi-city road show seminars, conferences, NetSeminars and buyer-meets-seller focus groups. In addition, he will play a strategic role in key brand events like the NetWorld+Interop Best of Show Awards and the InternetWeek 100 Awards programs.

For over 20 years, Rash has been tapped as a technology industry expert. Prior to joining CommunicationsWeek in 1996, Rash was editor of the Tech Report section in The Washington Post, a columnist for The Star Ledger and Byte Magazine, and a contributor to PC Magazine, Windows Sources and many more. He is a frequent speaker on topics related to the Internet, communications and technology. In addition, he has authored four books, including Politics on the Nets.

As Western Regional Director of Sales, Owen-Ward is responsible for managing sales for InternetWeek in the Western United States. He will work closely with sales and marketing to manage InternetWeek's 360-degree media sales. Owen-Ward was most recently the IBM and Intel Account Director with CMP Media's Business Technology Sales in New York. Before joining CMP, he led the management buyout of MAGtrack, the media research division of CCM Ltd. in London, where he increased business by 112% and later sold the company to Harvey Research. Prior to MAGTrack, he worked in a variety of sales management positions at VNU Business Publications in London.

"InternetWeek is in the sweet spot of the market and is experiencing unprecedented growth. These new management positions support our strategy of continuing to add resources to fuel this rise," said Patricia Schnaidt, Publisher of InternetWeek. "Both Ian and Wayne are experienced senior managers who will allow us to take the brand to the next level while continuing to provide the programs, quality and thought leadership that our constituencies have come to expect from InternetWeek."
