SAN FRANCISCO, May 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Enterprise Connect, produced by UBM Americas, today announces its 2016 Summit Series, focused on leveraging and optimizing Skype for Business. This Summit Series will present crucial information about the Skype for Business roadmap and potential business and technology challenges during migration to the Microsoft Unified Communications platform. This comes at a perfect time as new original research from Enterprise Connect's online editorial site, No Jitter, shows continued strong adoption of Skype for Business, as part of the Office 365 cloud suite, in 2015.

Microsoft has made a strong commitment to a cloud deployment model for Skype for Business via the Office 365 E5 enterprise licensing plan and Cloud PBX offering. But enterprises are now faced with decisions around how quickly and fully they should plan to migrate to the services' cloud-based functions. Further, critical issues around deployments remain – from systems management to room video strategies, to the ongoing question of how to integrate Skype for Business with legacy enterprise communications systems.

These questions arise at a time when Skype for Business is experiencing an increase in users. According to No Jitter's 2016 Skype for Business Adoption Trends, which surveyed 445 enterprise IT professionals within the Enterprise Connect community, more than half of respondents' enterprises are using the services in on-premises deployments. In addition, roughly one-third of those surveyed are already using or have expressed interest in using the cloud-based version. And 52 percent of respondents who said their organizations are using Skype for Business on-premises estimate that their organizations have replaced at least half of their prior PBX capacity with Skype for Business Enterprise Voice

This research demonstrates the need for enterprise professionals to better understand and perfect their Skype for Business strategy. Enterprise Connect's Summit Series will dive deep into the service, with subject matter experts answering questions around new applications, technology and business challenges. The series will also feature leading companies' real examples of how enterprises can build efficient Skype for Business strategies of their own.

"Skype for Business has become an integral part of the enterprise communications strategy," said Beth Schultz, Editor of No Jitter and program co-chair of Enterprise Connect. "With recent changes and pressing questions revealed with our latest research, it was no question that we needed to provide content to help professionals navigate the service so they're able to leverage it in their own organizations."

Findings from the 2016 Skype for Business Adoption Trends survey will be discussed during the Enterprise Connect Summit Series. You can view final results of the survey here: nojitter.com/slideshows/preview/240171671/skype-for-business-adoption-trends-2016
