GTEC 2015 - October 19-21 - Shaw Centre, Ottawa

Melissa Hathaway is a leading expert in cyberspace policy and cyber security with a long track record advising U.S. and partner nation governments, global organizations and private industry. Currently serving as President of Hathaway Global Strategies LLC, she counsels on the latest in risk management, technology investments, cyber strategy, and policy. Previously working with the White House, she spearheaded the Cyberspace Policy Review for President Obama and led the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative for President George W. Bush. Additionally, Hathaway is an appointed member of the Global Commission for Internet Governance (Bildt Commission), and serves on the board of directors of several private and non-profit entities.

From the GTEC 2015 Main Stage, Hathaway will explain how the Internet of Things (IoT) and information communications technology (ICT) are changing the cyber security landscape. More than ever before, a lack of stakeholder trust in these technologies is prominent both across and between different governments, corporations and citizens, affecting the digital economy and the free flow of data and services. Hathaway will discuss the implications of this shift in trust on economic health and security of nations, as well as the future of citizen-essential services. Her engaging and forward-looking presentation will take place the morning of Tuesday, October 20 when GTEC 2015 officially kicks off.
