The event will return for its second year and cover new aspects of the design, development and business of wearable tech, 3D printing and application of IoT. Designers of Things will take place December 2-3, 2015 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA. Designers of Things will take place December 2-3, 2015 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA.

This year's Designers of Things will dive even deeper into the constantly evolving IoT space as well as 3D printing innovations, with a special emphasis on the medical industry, one of the biggest platforms for IoT. Attendees will also have access to BioMed San Jose, an event focused on the emerging trends in medical device design that will run alongside Designers of Things 2015. The Designers of Things Advisory Committee is seeking proposals for the following session formats:


Conference Sessions: 30-minutes


"How-to," informative style presentations that reveal new ways of thinking about and applying new technologies, plus tips and tricks, proven strategies and techniques for improving performance, reducing development time, cutting costs in the design/development process and building/expanding a business.




Intensive Sessions: 1 or 2 hours  


A comprehensive look at a specific topic as it relates to the topic areas. Submissions should include any special requirements needed to be effective (e.g. - additional equipment, power, etc.), projected demos or hands-on elements. 




Pitch Coaching & Workshop: 30-minutes


Proven entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and coaching professionals can join our team of "pitch coaches" and help the next round of startups get off the ground.

Priority will be given to ideas and submissions with applicability in the medical device, medical informatics and ehealth space.
