Annual 4G World Conference Prepares for Growth with Move to Dallas for 2013

Oct 30, 2012

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- 4G World, the only conference and expo covering the entire ecosystem of next-generation 4G mobile broadband technologies, will move from Chicago to Dallas in 2013. The Dallas area has become a telecom and mobile communications hub and is home to many operators and service providers. It offers an ideal location for participation from Tier 1, and a growing number of Tier 2 and 3 service providers that will find Dallas more convenient and affordable to travel to when approving budgets. 4G World 2013 will take place at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center from October 28 – 30, 2013.

"Chicago has served the event well over the past four years," says Joe Braue, General Manager of 4G World. "However, after analysis and consultation with partners, clients, operators and attendees, we've concluded quite unanimously that the Dallas area is a stronger and more natural home for 4G World. We see a number of key benefits to this move that will serve to grow the event, deliver a stronger service provider and industry audience, and give the best possible value for attendees, our sponsors and exhibitors."

The Dallas area is home to top operator and service provider research and development centers and headquarters, as well as a major representation of Fortune 500 companies. It is also home to many of the industry's top infrastructure providers. With its central location, Dallas offers a convenient and affordable venue for increasingly more participants in the global 4G ecosystem to attend and benefit from the world class content as well as networking and collaboration opportunities that 4G World has become known for. The Gaylord Texan Resort is also much better suited to the combination of expo and conference facilities required to meet the event's needs. It will provide an unparalleled attendee experience – and the cost of doing business in Dallas will be lower when it comes to execution of the conference and expo, as well as attendee travel.

UBM TechWeb, producers of 4G World, are planning to expand the annual conference and expo into key emerging markets in need of a platform to showcase the 4G wireless and mobile broadband opportunities in international regions such as India and Latin America.

According to Braue, "Moving 4G World to Dallas in 2013 is the first step in our international growth strategy. The centralized new location lends itself well to the event's planned growth to Latin American markets and other international destinations."
