UBM Studios Wins Silver at the Event Design Awards for UBM TechWeb's HDI 2012 - A Digital Experience

Oct 16, 2012

CHICAGO, Oct. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Studios, the global leader in digital events, environments and communities, announced today that it has won silver from the Event Design Awards in the "Best Online/Virtual Element/Micro-site" category. The Event Design Awards recognize the best of the best among this industry's change agents, and the award-winning projects reflect how the world's best creative studios are reinventing experience design across all categories.

"It's a great honor to receive this award from the Event Design Awards.  Our powerful digital solutions help event organizers connect, educate and engage with their audiences," said Kate Spellman, President, UBM Studios.

"Sponsors recognize the requirement to stay in front of their prospects and customers year round, not just once or twice a year at a physical event," said Cinda Daly, Director of Content for HDI, who led the initiative for the community.  "Events that lead with content and audience engagement have a more consistent attendance conversion for the sponsors and keep the audience tuned in for extended periods of time."

UBM TechWeb HDI added a digital extension to the HDI 2012 Conference & Expo creating the HDI 2012 – A Digital Experience.  The digital event was targeted to the technical support industry to stay current with the latest trends and best practices.

The Theater offered live and on demand presentations and each sponsor was able to build a booth that reflected their corporate image.  In all of the areas of the digital environment, attendees were encouraged to engage with peers and sponsors through the embedded social suite, chat rooms, prize incentives, and badging functions.

The Expo Hall offered sponsored booths with representatives to chat, answer questions, and share ideas.  Sponsors included Nimsoft; BMC Software; Easy Vista; Pureshare; Serena Software; and RealVNC.  Attendees were able to click on the links to visit the sponsor's website, participate in chats, comment on blog posts and download articles, videos, whitepapers and product information provided by sponsors.

In the Theater attendees were able to view live and on demand presentations. Three live webcasts and a wide variety of on-demand training sessions, featuring Jeff Brooks, Rae Ann Bruno, Chris Dancy, Kirk Weisler, Jeff Rumburg, Eddie Vidal, Michael Devaney, and other popular speakers from HDI 2012.  HDI 2012 also offered keynote speaker video presentations by Steve Rizzo, Dr. Michio Kaku, and Joe Calloway as well as video vignettes featuring HDI 2012 keynote speaker Connie Podesta.  Attendees were able to ask questions during the live webcasts.  In addition, speakers lingered in the Lounge after their sessions to facilitate a chat discussion on their topic.

Attendees were also able to browse the Resource Center for downloadable documents.
