UBM Tech Announces Executive Team and Promotions

New Roles and Focus to Expand Portfolio of Online, Events and Marketing Services Businesses

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Tech, a global media business that provides information, events, training, data services, and marketing solutions for the technology industry, today announces the promotions of key executives to accelerate its rapidly-growing business. Following the formation of UBM Tech earlier this year, these organizational moves will further enable cross-group product development to capitalize on UBM Tech's unique position, market expertise and complete understanding of how technology is built, sold and used.  UBM Tech comprises the TechWeb, Channel, Electronics and Game Development/Black Hat groups.

UBM Tech's TechWeb group responsible for live events and media has promoted key executives to fuel the growth of the business. Marco Pardi has been promoted from EVP of TechWeb Event Sales to President, TechWeb Events.  Pardi is responsible for TechWeb's juggernaut portfolio of event-driven brands such as Interop, Enterprise Connect, and 4G World.  Lenny Heymann, previously EVP of TechWeb events, will lead UBM Tech's international expansion strategy as the company forges and expands to emerging global markets.  Ed Grossman is being promoted from EVP, InformationWeek Business Technology Network to President, TechWeb Media, leading its online and marketing services businesses. Promoted to the Chief Sales Officer for TechWeb Media is Martha Schwartz, who as EVP of InformationWeek has led explosive revenue growth across the online and marketing services business.  David Berlind will assume duties as Chief Content Officer for the online business, responsible for content strategy and operations, as well as the chief advocate for TechWeb's strong base of readers and registered users.

David Michael and Scott Vaughan have new, expanded responsibilities across UBM Tech.  Michael, formerly CIO of TechWeb group, will become CIO of the entire UBM Tech organization with a focus on expanding and exploiting its technology platforms and business customer analytics. Vaughan will expand his role from CMO of TechWeb assuming the role of CMO for the entire UBM Tech business.  He will be focused on customer audience and client marketing, sales enablement, Marketing Services' offerings, and UBM Tech go-to-market and brand strategies.

Robert Faletra, CEO, Kathy Astromoff, CEO, and Simon Carless, EVP, will maintain their responsibilities for the Channel, Electronics, and Game Development & Black Hat groups, respectively.
