UBM Studios Examines Hybrid Events at the Society of Government Meeting Professionals' 30th Annual National Education Conference

May 15, 2012

CHICAGO, May 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Studios today announced that Kristin Beaulieu, SVP Sales & Development, East, will speak at the Society of Government Meeting Professionals' 30th Annual National Education Conference, which will be held in New Orleans May 16-19, 2012.  The conference is the biggest annual event in the government meetings industry and is where government professionals from across the country come together for education, resources and networking.

On Thursday, May 17 at 4:15 p.m. at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside and Friday, May 18 at 8:30 a.m. at the New Orleans Convention Center, Beaulieu will join a panel of experts to examine "How Hybrid Events Can Extend the Life and Reach of your Physical Event Programs."  Hybrid events are an important way to turbo charge an event before, during and after the physical program. As a pre-event tactic, hybrid events can help drive traffic to an event. By streaming an event live, producers can extend the reach of events to create a growing community and enhance relationships. Developing a collaborative environment for physical event attendees and virtual event attendees is also critical to heightening audience engagement.  This panel will examine how digital environments can enhance physical events.  Attendees will learn to create successful hybrid solutions to optimize the effectiveness of their physical events.  Other panel participants include Steve Boyce, Vice President, Business Development, INXPO and Michael Doyle, Executive Director, Virtual Edge Institute.

"Today hybrid environments can be offered in a variety of creative formats to complement physical programs.  Steve, Michael and I will discuss various scenarios that have been proven successful," said Beaulieu.  "We're looking forward to helping government meeting professionals understand the benefits of adding hybrid environments to their repertoire."

With more than 15 years of experience, Beaulieu has a track record of significantly growing revenue in both the virtual media and publishing markets. Beaulieu held a variety of positions at Ziff Davis Media; most recently, she was Senior Vice President at Ziff Davis Enterprise – Event Sales. While at Ziff Davis Media, Beaulieu created and built a $6M virtual event business - eSeminars; led the company's International Licensing group; and launched PCMagCast, a virtual event business created specifically for PC Magazine's audience. In addition, Beaulieu held several positions with InXpo where she implemented virtual event business strategy and managed key publishing and enterprise accounts including Tech Target, Red7 Media, ZDE, Bank of America and EMC. Earlier, Beaulieu held key marketing positions with several dotcoms.
